Android just realease latest version, namely android version 2.2. This version is an improvement over previous versions by adding several new features and some bug fixing. What are the new features provided by the Android 2.2? Let’s see one by one the feature:
1. Application installation on an external storage media
In previous versions of android application installation can only be done on the Internal storage. This of course is a limitation that is very disturbing, because of internal storage which is usually owned by the mobile phone is very limited. In this version, users can perform the installation in its external storage media.
2. Data Backup
In this version of the android has a feature to perform backup and restore to and from the “cloud” storage. This feature is very useful when users do factory reset or buying a new android device. With this feature is transparent to the user to restore their android phone with the backup at desired point.
3. Graphics
Android 2.2 supports improvement in graphics quality. This version supports OpenGL ES 2.0 API, it supports compressing texture ETC1, New Image format class and have the ability to convert JPEG to YUV and YUV to manipulate.
