Today Android already become trend and main choice among alot of mobile phone operating system. So the next question for us is, why we choose android? Of course this will depend on the pros and cons of Android mobile Operating system.
Why google creating their own Operating System for mobile phone? As we know Google start their business with search engine, after that their expand their business with internet application such as Google Map, gmail, etc. And now they build their own Operating system for mobile phone. Android give google the perfect platform to deliver all their content into one easy-to-manage bundle. So they have platform at the end user hand to deliver their content perfectly.
What is the technology behind Android? Before choosing mobile phone operating system, better we know what is the the technology behind it. Android develop under linux and complies with Open Handset Alliance(OHA), which mean anyone can develop Android on their hardware.
So What can i get from that technology if its behind Android? Because its open platform and open source so it means it can develop easy and cheap with less commercial issue. So we can see a lot of smartphone already use Android as their mobile phone Operating System. And a lot of developer around the world can use API for develop and share their own Andorid application.
How about the connectivity, is Andorid support all type of common connectivity that available today? Android support all type of connectivity,GSM/EDGE, CDMA, EV-DO, UMTS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. but it depend on the hardware vendor want to include that type of connectivity or not. Because it will impact to the usage of battery and the price of course.
How about the hardware currently support Andorid? Today there area already many phone hardware vendor manufacture support Android likes Samsung, LG, Sony Ericson, Garmin, also manufacture from china Huawei also already support Android.
How about the Android Latest version and what is the improvement made on this latest version? we can know if the company serious develop platform by their improvement progress. Android now already enter Version 2.2. The improvement is mostly on the speed, in this version 2.2 Andorid use Dalvix VM JIT compiler that perform 2-5 times faster that previous version. And by using V8 technology in browser it can run java script 2-3 time faster rendering.
We will see many improvement and increasing of popularity for Android in 2010. Choosing Android as your mobile phone Operating System i thing its the best choice as long as it fit to your need and budget of course.
